Led by Imani Bowman, this training is designed to equip you with the skills to identify and address microaggressions in the therapy space. You'll learn about the nuances of these behaviors and how they impact your therapist identity and the outcomes of your sessions. You'll also receive practical strategies that are specifically tailored for you, helping you to enhance your personal growth and self-advocacy. Through engaging activities and scenario-based practices, this training is designed to empower you to navigate and overcome microaggressions.
Upon Completion, Participants will be able to:
Identify microaggressions and recognize how they relate to therapist identity
Identify microaggressions that occur in therapy settings.
Assess the impact of microaggressions on therapeutic outcomes.
Recognize microaggressions on the client and organizational levels.
Develop plans for addressing recognized microaggressions on the client and organizational levels.
