Meet Lindsey Foss, the driving force behind Forward Together Counseling – a licensed marriage and family therapist with a knack for turning challenges into opportunities for growth. Former teacher and educational administrator turned therapist, Lindsey's journey from North Carolina to the vibrant streets of D.C. has been fueled by a passion for languages, exploration, and outdoor adventures.

Lindsey specializes in guiding families, couples, and individuals, even little ones as young as three, towards joy, connection, and balance. As the proud owner of Forward Together Counseling in Silver Spring, MD, Lindsey is not just a therapist; she's an AAMFT approved supervisor, certified Foundational level Theraplay practitioner, and a RYT-200.

As a former Director of a multi site community schools program, and current owner of Forward Together Counseling, Lindsey, emphasizes leadership that focuses on emotional regulation and collaboration. She believes in cultivating a workplace culture that balances the company needs and employee well-being. Lindsey promotes a focus on quality and continuous learning, ensuring both the team and the organization thrive in an environment of growth and excellence.

Imani Bowman, LCPC
Director of Community and Clinical Programming

Meet Imani Bowman, our Director of Clinical and Community Programming and a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC). With a passion for mental health as an essential component of a fulfilling life, Imani manages our practice's clinical programs and community outreach.

Specializing in working with children, families, and individuals, she brings a particular focus on pre-teens, teenagers, and young adults navigating life's challenges. Imani's extensive experience spans diverse age groups from 5 to 65, encompassing school-based and community settings, with a specialized emphasis on working with African American clients.

Hailing from the BBQ haven of Kansas City, Imani made the move to the DC area a decade ago to attend the illustrious Howard University, earning a B.S. in Psychology and an M. Ed in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from George Washington University.

Outside of her professional pursuits, Imani indulges in DIY projects and bedazzling anything she can get her hands on. With her comprehensive background and dedication to mental well-being, Imani is a key asset in leading our clinical training programs and fostering community engagement.
